The T100 Mizu is an Adanese battle support (cruiser) tank introduced in 2010. It was named for Adanese Prime Minister Racep Mizu, who approved the project.

Design[]

The Mizu was designed for performance and operating either alone or in small packs, although they also see common use alongside full batallions. They are easily identifiable, with two-person cockpits and a large rear featuring twin booster jet engines and short aircraft-like rudders, as well as four independently-operating caterpillar treads. Mizus are exceptionally fast, good at transversing rough terrain, and even have limited stealth capabilities.

History[]

The project which ultimately resulted in the Mizu's production was begun in 1998, as part of Adana's Self Defense Initiative. A deal was reached with defense secretary Talley's own company, AirTech Combat Systems, to develop a new generation of front-line combat vehicles for the army. This led to the design of four combat vehicles: the heavy battle tank Ryu, nimble support tank Mizu, dual-barrel artillery cannon Mongoose, and anti-air artillery system Peregrine. Later the Peregrine's systems were integrated into the Mongoose, ultimately reducing costs and making Adana's new vehicles into a trio. By 2006, all three of AtCS' final three were accepted by the Army and scheduled to be introduced in 2011, until 2008, when the Adanese Reunification prompted their intoduction to be moved up to 2010.

Despite their 2010 introduction date, several already-completed Mizu's were quietly inducted into the Army in 2008 to participate in the Reunification Wars, and were cited as being a major factor in Adana's quick success against both adversaries simoutaneously, as neither Arcadia nor Anatolia could effectively deal with "Adana's annoying little jet tanks."

Incidents[]

On June 23, 2009, Prime Minister Kemal Talley was riding in a T100 as part of an exhibition when, during a sharp high-speed turn, it skidded into and crashed through the wall of an unused warehouse. Neither Talley nor the Mizu's driver were hurt, and the tank had little more than minor dents and scratches to its hull. The crash was ruled an accident.

Trivia[]

The 2001 video game Halo: Combat Evolved stirred some controversy when it was noticed by defense panels that its M808B "Scorpion" tank bore significant resemblance to the Mizu, whose design was still classified at the time.
