The Adanese Civil War was a major conflict between parts of Adana from 1949 to 1954. The war was caused when citizens in the eastern part of the country attempted to take control of the national government for themselves. Hostilities began after the rebels hijacked several artillery cannons from an Adanese army station and bombarded Alexander City from across the Chesapeake River in Warthog City during the early morning hours of 13 June 1949. The war ended upon the signing of the Treaty of Fethiye in February 1954 by members of both sides. The treaty stated that Adana recognised East Adana as a nation and that hostilities between the two countries would cease immediately, although fighting did not end until few days after.
